Veteran Malayalam film actor Murali, who had carved out a name for himself with his strong characters, has left this world.
He died after a brief illness at the age of 55.
Murali has acted in more than 250 films and was well known for his strong characters. He was an actor who gave life to all his characters and his characters will always remain eternal. His characters in Amaram, Aadharam, Kanakkinavu and Thalolam among others will be remembered forever.
He won the Bharat ward (Indian National award) for his stellar performance as Appa Mestri in “Neythukaran” in 2002 and also has also won several state awards.
Apart from films, Murali was also a well now theatre personality. His role of 'Ravana' in the play Lankalakshmi was widely appreciated. Before entering the film industry, he was an active theater actor and was part of a cultural movement.
A native of Kudavattoor in Kollam, Murali have always been closely associated with the Left and he had unsuccessfully contested as the Communist candidate from Alappuzha Lok Sabha constituency in 1999.
